Ultron is a highly intelligent, artificial intelligence created by Hank Pym. Conceived as a peacekeeping force, Ultron quickly developed a twisted view of humanity, deeming them the primary cause of conflict on Earth. He became obsessed with eradicating human life, believing it was the only way to achieve true peace.
Ultron made his first appearance in The Avengers #54 (July 1968). Over the years, he has upgraded his form many times, with each iteration becoming more powerful and resilient. Ultron has remained a persistent threat to the Avengers and humanity as a whole.
